Digital Painting uses photographs that have been scanned into a computer as reference. First a process of color correcting, and healing takes place. Then the painting can begin. Although a good quality photo always produces a better painting, there is hope for a great shot of someone or something that might be a little out of focus or have an undesirable item in the photo. Certain individuals or items can be removed.
All paintings are done by hand. To insure the best possible quality, there are no automatic painting programs used at Darla-Amos.com.

The photo of Jaspurr the kitten was out of focus, especially his eye. Clarity was brought back to his eye and fur. The background is muted to bring out the subject.
Beautiful work, Darla! You inspire me to get me camera out and start snappin’! You have a great talent that you share!
Thank you so much Jennifer.
